Elizabeth and her husband made us feel so welcome, with smiles and thoughtful attention to every detail. Elizabeth knows her craft, so be sure to book a massage with her. The hotel is full of lovely artwork and charm, and it’s an easy walk to the seaport. Restaurants are all around, and the train and bus station is very close. Traveling solo, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Our hosts were very friendly. The room wasn’t large, but it had two comfortable chairs and coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom was a disaster, though: tiny, and there was no way to keep the floor dry after a shower. I’ve never seen such a small hotel bathroom.

The hotel has a personality of its own, and my room was clean and comfortably warm, with a hot shower. It also had toiletries, towels, and a hair dryer, which some places don't provide anymore. Breakfast was generous, enough to set me up for the day. It's right in town, close to the station, with bars and restaurants nearby and everything easy to reach on foot. The owner was so friendly that I felt I'd found my Dutch twin, and she made me feel at home. I was warned about possible street noise because it was Koningsdag, when everyone parties, but it turned out to be a quiet night for me and I slept well.

Our dogs got their own special breakfast and clearly enjoyed it. We also had a warm welcome, a good hot shower, and a restful night's sleep at this charming, eclectic hotel. Don't come expecting the Ritz. Come away feeling good, with the sense that you've brushed up against a world that's disappearing.
