Hotel De Kroon Kaatsheuvel

There’s a lovely bakery just across the road, and shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. Efteling is extremely close, about a four-minute walk. Our room was quiet, spacious and just right, with a great bathroom. We didn’t try the restaurant, but had a drink in the cosy Guesthouse bar. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The beds are really comfortable, and you can open the windows. Breakfast is a fresh continental spread included in the price, and tea and coffee are available all day. There’s also a playroom for little kids. The hotel is clean and family friendly, with very warm staff who make you feel at home and are happy to help with anything. It’s close to a supermarket, restaurants and Efteling. The hotel is expanding, and we’ll definitely return.

The staff were friendly and patient, and they helped us sort out a different cart for the kids at Efteling after the one we’d reserved had been left broken by the family who used it the day before. They also refunded us for the inconvenience. The hotel is fairly quiet, has lots of facilities and a very good breakfast. My one disappointment was that the advertised room service wasn’t available. I could collect the food myself, but waited 40 minutes for two pizzas.

The other location is beautiful, with a rooftop garden, and the bar staff were so kind after our very long day. The hotel clearly understands families with small children and does a great job. Some rooms have recently been renovated and are lovely. We could leave our bags at the other location after checkout while we went to the park, and they explained how everything worked very clearly in English. We were glad to rent a small wagon for the two little ones, but it was quite heavy, so I might suggest another option. -bonds!
