This converted little church is a heavenly place for a few days in southwest Friesland, done with so much attention to detail. It’s fully equipped, with a complete kitchen and excellent beds. For four adults, though, it’s a little less suitable: there’s just one regular double bed. The box bed feels romantic, but it’s rather cramped.

Everything was clean and arranged with care, in a way that’s both practical and lovely. The former church has been turned into a special holiday apartment that can comfortably sleep up to six, and it has everything you could want. Shops and other daily necessities are within walking distance, and it’s a great starting point for exploring the area. We’ll definitely come again.
