Apartment 't Zwaluwnest Luttenberg

Lovely people, and such a nice spot out in the countryside of the netherlands. A great place to stay for a night or two.

We had a weekend away, just the two of us and our dog. The cottage was a surprise, the location is lovely, and the hostess was very welcoming. The owners converted it themselves from a former double horse stable. As a former handyman, I could see the care they put into it, though the finishing is clearly their own work. The layout is very well thought out, and it was a pleasant stay once you look past that. There's even a sauna, which we didn't use. The double bed was excellent and the kitchen had everything we needed. A couple of constructive thoughts: the infrared panels kept the cottage warm for now, but I wonder if they'd be enough in winter. And the TV is very small, so I'd swap it for a normal-sized one with decent sound. Still, it was an affordable and successful weekend away, one we'll remember to book again.

Breakfast is all there, though you prepare it yourself. That's handy if you want to eat in your pajamas. It's a lovely private cottage, with a friendly host, a beautiful garden and views over the fields and Luttenberg. Dogs are welcome. Our dog was fascinated by the robot mower. The spacious bed was let down by a bottom sheet that's too small for the topper, which is starting to sag. It's a great base for exploring. Very nice B&B.

It was 31° outside, but pleasantly cool inside, and I slept well. The bungalow is small and cozy, with all the amenities, and everything was in order. The owner replenishes the breakfast supplies each day. The bathroom was clean, though it could use a refresh. Best of all, it was wonderfully quiet, with no disturbance from anyone or anything.
