B&B de Rivierduin

Ali, the host, deserves a special mention. He's very friendly and made us feel welcome. The B&B has a clean, lovely room, excellent bathroom facilities and a delicious, generous breakfast. It's about a 10-minute bike ride from the center of Hattem, with easy parking at the farm. A great starting point for rides along the IJssel Valley or the northern side of the Veluwe. Highly recommended.

It was cold and damp, 14 degrees Celsius with rain outside, and there was nowhere indoors to dry my shoes and coat. There was a fan, but no space heater, and the radiator was off. For €85, I expect breakfast as well as coffee and tea when I book a Bed & Breakfast. The TV was advertised as having satellite reception, but there wasn't a single German channel. Fortunately, the second room was empty. Otherwise, the kitchenette with a microwave and single-burner cooktop, along with the bathroom and toilet, would have been shared, and everything was far too close together. The stairs were very steep too. No receipt or invoice. What a disappointment.

Ali, the hostess, is so warm and welcoming, and makes sure you have everything you need. The breakfast was FANTASTIC, with plenty of variety and local products. The B&B is lovely, in beautiful quiet surroundings, and everything was clean and tidy. The beds were wonderful, and the bedding and towels smelled fresh. Highly recommended!

The hostess was friendly, the room was nice and spacious, and breakfast was excellent. We borrowed bikes to ride to Hattem for dinner. A great B&B at a very reasonable price. I'd happily return.
