We travel widely and take care to leave our accommodation in good condition. According to Airbnb, we’re clean and very good customers, and no one has ever complained about us after a stay. We’ve stayed at Tolplas regularly, but when we made our next reservation, we got an email asking for an extra 65 euros because the house had supposedly been left dirty. I asked what was dirty and requested photos. The reservation staff member said we hadn’t cleaned the dishwasher. That may be true: after breakfast we loaded it and started a cycle before checkout. We weren’t going to wait three hours for it to finish and risk being late checking out. I don’t see why housekeeping couldn’t simply take out the clean dishes. Tolplas has never been the cleanest place, but we like it and had let some things slide. It seems they’re trying to present it as very clean, so I’m sharing what was genuinely dirty. Maybe housekeeping should pay more attention to overall cleanliness than to clean dishes left in the dishwasher. The photos also show a dead bed bug, mold, and a number of bloody stains.

It’s quite remote, but there’s plenty to do nearby, like short golf, cycling, and visiting small towns. The staff are very friendly, and the bakery service is a nice touch. The houses are spacious and clean, set on reasonably sized plots. A great place to stay if you’re after some peace and quiet.

I’m here for my first day and would definitely recommend the place so far. It’s a quiet, rural park with cute, possibly new, accommodation around a small lake or pond. The houses are quite close together, and it’s in the middle of nowhere, which suits a quieter holiday.

We never feel boxed in at the Tiny House, it feels like home despite the small size. We often rent one here because it’s cozy and has a nice mix of things, with quality furniture and a fireplace. We enjoy the activities nearby, the restaurant, or simply relaxing. When we can, we choose house 509. It faces south, gets the sun, and sits a little apart from the others.

There were rats sharing the accommodation with us, the whole house smelled of cigarettes, and the dishwasher was broken. It took four days to get it replaced. They kept our deposit afterward for damage we hadn’t caused. I would NOT recommend staying here.
