Stayokay Gorssel - Deventer

The drive in is the one drawback: the surrounding roads are narrow and have low speed limits, so getting here takes a while. But it's a great spot if you enjoy nature and horses. There are cheaper dormitory style rooms, family rooms in the garden, and lovely little cottages tucked among the trees. Breakfast is a nice open buffet in the morning.

We loved the peaceful natural setting, with cow farms and forests around us, and birds and cows to wake up to. Stayokay Gorssel - Deventer is a charming building, and the reception staff were respectful and welcoming. Our room was clean and set up in the usual 6-bed hostel style. Breakfast was good, and there's a large, beautiful outdoor area for relaxing, playing, or just hanging out. A great choice for a calm stay close to nature.

We booked because the price included both parking and breakfast, and that was great value. The staff gave us a really friendly welcome. The wikkelhouses also turned out to feel bigger and more spacious than they look in the pictures, mostly thanks to the high ceilings. It's a lovely place for a quiet break in nature. Thanks so much!

We had the "standard" bedroom block to ourselves for three nights during a Sports Tour, with ages ranging from 14-56. It gave our large group plenty of space and freedom to relax, and the location is wonderful. The weather could have been kinder so we could make more use of the outdoor space. Don't be put off by the hostel label. The bedrooms are basic, but clean and in good order, with ensuite facilities that are private, clean, and functional. Making our own beds surprised a few people, though the beds were comfortable and welcome after long days of activities. The "grown ups" were happy with the evening bar, and the unlimited continental style breakfast was a great start to each day. Staff were friendly and professional, and willing to help when needed.
