Manoir Inter Scaldes

Jeroen en Sanne were wonderful hosts, and the team did a great job keeping dinner relaxed instead of overly formal. At the chefs table, we also got to visit the kitchen. An amazing experience, and I hope to be back soon.

The service team was outstanding, with great attention to detail and impressive knowledge. Chef Jeroen and his team served an incredible dinner, full of creative cooking, flavors, and textures. Inter Scaldes definitely belongs on your bucket list.

The dessert was perfectly balanced, and the extra caviar dish was spectacular. The Somaliër also stood out for her wine knowledge and for explaining the choices that matched the food. We had a creative, high quality meal in beautiful surroundings, with a well coordinated and friendly team. The seven courses plus appetisers were thoughtfully put together, and watching the chefs make and explain one dish in the kitchen was great fun. For a restaurant aiming to regain its three stars, though, the small details matter. Later in the evening, cutlery was set down in a rush and not always straight. A cheese garnish was hurriedly served and spilled onto me, water glasses took a while to refill, and we could see team members arguing. Those details wouldn’t normally stand out, but at this level you expect near perfection. Still, I had a fantastic experience, would rate it 5/5, and would happily return.

The red mullet with green asparagus and tangy red fruit was my favorite, and I especially enjoyed how creamy and acidic flavors were balanced across the dishes. Lunch at Inter Scaldes was excellent, with care in every detail, from the welcome as we arrived to coffee in the sunny garden. We had eight courses and the whole experience was perfect. I was the designated driver, so I didn’t try the wines, but my companions said they were excellent.
