Hotel Landgoed de Holtweijde

We loved the snow, pine trees, and lights during our stay. It felt truly magical, and we’d happily come back in another season. This was our first time at Langoed De Holtweijde, and we were delighted with the Panorama Suite. Everything was clean, peaceful, and beautifully designed, and the pool and sauna were perfect. The staff were extremely kind, especially the older lady in the restaurant at breakfast. Please send her our warmest greetings from the Novak family. Breakfast was generous, with everything freshly prepared. On our last day, I had a massage in such a lovely setting, and the massage therapist was incredibly kind. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever experienced that combination of atmosphere and kindness before. We wholeheartedly recommend you.

The service really let us down. Staff were repeatedly unhelpful and inattentive, and some came across as outright rude. For a place at this level, I expected professional, courteous hospitality. Instead, interactions felt cold and dismissive, and even simple requests seemed like a burden. That left a lasting bad impression. The setting at Landgoed De Holtweijde is undeniably beautiful and peaceful, and the grounds are lovely for a relaxing break. The rooms are spacious, clean, well presented, and have a warm rustic charm that feels like a private retreat. The hotel gets the comfort and atmosphere right, but the poor service overshadowed our stay. Unless management makes serious improvements to hospitality, it’s hard to recommend despite the wonderful location.

We came in August to celebrate our engagement, but a waiter’s arrogant, dismissive manner turned what should have been a special dinner into a really upsetting evening. His remarks made us feel belittled and so uncomfortable that we couldn’t relax. We slept badly and just wanted to leave as soon as we could. The receptionist was kind, but management later brushed off our concerns instead of taking responsibility. We left distressed and disappointed, with none of the happiness we’d hoped to celebrate.

We had a family holiday with my wife, who was heavily pregnant, and our six-year-old daughter. The landscape was lovely, the place had a great vibe, and the facilities were nice. We went to the sauna and swimming pool almost every day. The service was warm, too.
