Cosy Cityhouse Leeuwarden

The photos do match the place, but they leave out some practical problems. There were no hooks for towels by the sink and no coffee creamer, though coffee and sugar were provided. The little toilet sink was grimy, and there were cobwebs in several places around the house. The stairs creaked so loudly that I woke when the other person got up to use the bathroom at night. The sofa sits too close to the TV, and the large dining table means you can't push the sofa back. No downstairs window can be opened. The lighting setup was awkward too. You can't switch on the upstairs light from downstairs, so you have to go upstairs with the downstairs light on, turn on the upper light, then come back down to switch the other one off. The downstairs switch is in a ridiculous spot, tucked behind the stairs, and you have to reach past the vacuum to get to it. It was noisy outside in the evenings and at night. There are lots of bars and restaurants one street away, and people walked past the house talking and laughing loudly, which kept us awake even with earplugs. We were there Wednesday and Thursday nights. On the first morning at 6:30, three homeless or very drunk people were arguing outside the door. When I asked them to keep it down, they started banging really hard on the glass front door, and I felt unsafe.
