B&B Het Boenhok

Being city dwellers, we loved the sense of freedom in the surroundings and found it wonderful for unwinding. We'll come back when the weather's better. The hostess made us feel welcome and gave us plenty of her time. Our double room had a renovated bathroom and was clean and tidy. The shared central area had a pleasant feel, the kitchen had everything we could want, and breakfast was well worth the price.

The room had a toilet accessible from it, but there was no sink or ventilation in there. What was described as a bathroom turned out to be a makeshift shower cubicle that meant walking around the outside of the house to reach it. Breakfast cost extra and had to be ordered separately. For the price, this was far too much, and the description was inaccurate.

The beds were comfortable and the room had everything in it, though paying by card isn't possible. It's a unique place, but the shower is outside the room, which isn't very convenient. It was noisy, and in the morning you could hear a donkey and pig. We also found a rubber band left in the shower and the shower shelf was very dirty.

The room itself was simple, tidy, and clean, but clutter in the other rooms made the place feel unkempt. The window wouldn't stay open just a crack and kept blowing fully open. There was no hairdryer, and the fire alarm went off repeatedly for no apparent reason during the night, so we didn't sleep well.
