We had a lovely, restful stay, and the staff were so friendly. The place was clean and tidy, and the kitchen had everything needed for breakfast. There’s a market in town, and bikes are available to rent for a day in the National park. The bike paths are well prepared and the maps are easy to follow. For kids, there’s a great park about a 5-minute drive away.

The castle sits in a beautiful park, and the venue feels small and cozy, which made it lovely for a wedding. Mitchell was an enthusiastic waiter and had a great feel for serving customers.

The simple design is beautiful, and the gardens and vegetable garden are well worth a walk. It’s a shame the rest is only open on Sundays. The volunteers who look after the place deserve a medal!

We went to a lovely guitar concert by Glenn de Roo, held in front of the Koetshuis.

A lovely old mansion, with a botanical garden cared for by volunteers.
