What makes this hotel stand out is how thoroughly clean it is. The room smelled fresh, there wasn't a speck of dust, and even the shower curtain looked newly put up. No limescale on the faucet or tiles either. The room itself is spacious, with two comfortable box-spring beds and lovely linens, plus a little kitchenette, kettle, tea, and coffee. The building dates back to 1654 and has been beautifully restored, though the interior is somewhat dated. We got a very hospitable welcome, and breakfast had a good range of options. The shower was wonderful too. It's a very short walk to the center and the marina on the IJsselmeer. Highly recommended if you're staying overnight in Makkum.

The hotel has a charming little courtyard, and the price for what you get is excellent. Staff were courteous, and breakfast was okay. We had the room where a spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom. It's like a space-saving staircase, so really only suitable if you don't have leg problems. Furnishings are basic, but that's perfectly adequate if you're out all day.

My son Vincent and I stayed at the anchor on June 25 and 26. The welcome was friendly and breakfast was just fine. The double bed is reached by a spiral staircase, but I didn't sleep at all well. There was a hollow in the bed and it was too soft.

A lovely old house, decorated with care. We were warmly welcomed, and the room was clean and well looked after. Breakfast was generous and included. I'll definitely come back! 👍🏻😁

A nice clean place, and not expensive. We were able to have breakfast at six. The only issue was that the shower room got very wet and messy.
