Dormio resort Nieuwvliet-Bad

The resort is new, attractive, close to the beach and has lots of activities. We spent two nights in a ground-floor apartment. The upstairs neighbors were somewhat noisy, but it didn’t bother us much. On the second day, half the apartment lost power. There was no light in the bathroom or shower, no internet, and only part of the kitchen worked, so we couldn’t cook as planned. My husband reported it at reception, where they asked if we could wait until the following day. Since we were leaving then, that was frustrating. Staff eventually tried to fix it, but the problem was more complicated, and we spent the night with the apartment only partly functional. We got neither a proper apology nor compensation. For the price, we expected better treatment and a more proactive response.

The countryside setting brought back memories for me. I grew up among fields and have spent most of my life around wheat fields, so I found the location lovely. Since the resort is so new, it’s understandable that there are a few bugs in the ground-floor rooms. The rest was pretty standard. I also think the kids’ facilities and activities could be improved.

It’s a nice spot surrounded by nature, but our double room for two lacked basic things. There wasn’t a cup or glass for water, a kettle for tea, a fridge for drinks, or even a hair dryer. We asked at reception and were told to go buy those items somewhere. At the prices we paid, having none of this in the room felt ridiculous.

The resort is very child-oriented. We had a great time at the bar, with a huge choice of drinks and perfect service. The staff kept checking on us. See you soon. I’ve attached a photo of the dessert we ate and the tea we nearly finished 😅
