The house itself was clean and well maintained, and the location is great, close to everything. The after-hours check-in and check-out process worked well. But the information about what was included wasn't clear. The photos showed linens in the rooms, so I assumed towels came with them. After a 6 hour drive we arrived at 2000, tired and ready for showers and bed, only to find no towels. Shops in a nearby town were already closed. The next day reception told us we could rent them for €25 for three people. We've stayed in many places around Europe and hadn't come across that before. Charging extra for towels felt petty and started the trip on a sour note. We also tried to rent bikes, but the system wasn't working, so the receptionist couldn't take payment. That seemed odd since our card details were already on file for the house. We ended up using Rent and Roll, 10/10 recommended them! The heat kept turning off in the middle of the night, so every morning we woke up freezing. The house was small, though, and warmed up quickly. One other detail: the website says there's a “pod coffee machine,” but it only takes the original Keurig style pods. New Keurig pods and Nespresso pods won't fit.

The cleaning teams were especially good, thorough and willing to help with special requests. Staff in general were friendly and helpful too. Families will find modern, clean holiday homes with the essentials, plus an outdoor pool, playground, and skelter wagons for kids. Bring or rent towels and toiletries, though, and be ready to make the beds yourself on arrival, which can be a nuisance after a long trip. The park is peaceful and close to nature, near the dunes at Noordwijk. The beach is a short drive or bike ride away, and it's well placed for Keukenhof Gardens and towns like Haarlem and Leiden. There are a few practical things to plan for, but many guests enjoy a relaxing family stay here.

A great restaurant nearby, and the park is tidy and close to the beach. The place itself was fine, except the hoover smelled strongly of wet dog hair. We'll choose the animal-free option next time. Booking direct is cheaper, and you can see the difference, I hope. About the cleaning, see photo, that wasn't us. The floor could use a mop, but otherwise we liked our stay.

The garden looked as though it hadn't been cared for in years, and dog poo had been left there. Inside, the pillowcases were stained, the towels weren't really clean, and the dishes and cutlery were dirty. The pots and pans were completely filthy. At first glance the bungalow seemed clean, but that didn't last. The walls also looked like they hadn't been painted for years. We could have overlooked that if it had been the only issue.
