Sonop

The house has a fun retro feel, more authentic than hotel-chic, which suited us perfectly. The garden is allowed to grow freely, so don't expect formal landscaping. We spent four nights at this warm, welcoming B&B and the location made it easy to get out and do things. Afternoons were lovely with a complimentary cappuccino in the sun, and Friso the dog kept us company without being a bother. Breakfast was beautifully put together, with a different little surprise each day. Five stars for Sonop!

Kiki made us feel welcome straight away, and breakfast was a treat every morning, especially the homemade bread and her fig and plum jam. We stayed for a few days around New Year's Eve with our husband and had a great rest. The room was spacious and we slept really well. The location worked out nicely too: the beach was nearby, there's a large parking lot close by, and the bus to Domburg or Middelburg stops almost right outside. The town also has a supermarket and several tasty restaurants. We'd be very happy to return :-))))

The breakfast felt thoughtfully put together for each table, with a new extra each day and homemade jam. The blue dishes in different patterns fit the dining room decor so well. We could park by the house, and there's also a free public lot a little further along. Bikes can be rented too. Our room was small but charming, with a shower, clawfoot tub, stoneware sink, and lovely fixtures. The roller blind and blackout curtains made it easy to darken the room, and the bed stayed comfortable even with a child between us. We looked out onto the lovely garden, a nice spot for breakfast outside or a quiet evening. The owners were very friendly and ready to answer questions or explain things when we arrived.

We liked having the freedom to ask the owners for local ideas or just do our own thing. They're easy to reach and know plenty about the area. Breakfast was hearty, with a daily surprise, and served on lovely tableware. The rooms were beautiful and had more than I expected: a fridge, tea and coffee, a hairdryer, and even a smart TV that was nice to watch from bed.
