We stayed at the house "Eisvogel" at Zuideriep 17 from December 27th to January 3rd, 2026. It was a real shame to find the place so dirty and neglected. Dust was everywhere, and the old bathrooms felt unhygienic. I’ve included a few pictures to show the condition. We also told the travel agency we booked through. We’ve never had an experience like this before, and in its current state, we absolutely can’t recommend the house. :(

We’ve been visiting Ouddorp for several years as a family of three with two dogs, and it feels like our second home. This was our first time booking through Huisjmann, and the service was fantastic from the moment we arrived, friendly and welcoming. The house was superb, clean, and very well maintained, with all the amenities we needed. The garden was perfect for the dogs, and we lacked nothing. Read the fine print and you won’t get unpleasant surprises about the standards or amenities. Highly recommended!

The area is beautiful, with great beaches and fantastic markets, but this place didn’t work well for us as dog owners. Rabbits are all over the park, and our dog couldn’t be let into the garden because it wasn’t even 60% escape-proof. The stairs are very steep. The pots weren’t properly clean either, and we found a squirrel skeleton and old dog treats in the garden.

Our holiday got off to a hugely disappointing start. We reached Ouddorp at 6:30 pm, exhausted after an eight-hour drive with two small children. The rental agreement said keys could be collected from 3 pm on arrival day, with no evening cutoff. Mr. Huijsmans rudely told us to come back in 20 minutes because his food was getting cold. He eventually agreed to hand over the key, but gave us no receipt for the deposit. We waited outside the house, then had to wait another 15 minutes before getting the key. What an unacceptable beginning to the holiday. Such a shame for the holiday home owners who use his services.
