Scandinavisch Dorp

The location and view were nice, but the restaurant experience was disappointing. We were asked for our order before anyone brought us a menu, then left waiting for 30 minutes after getting one. The berry ice cream looked like it would come with fresh blueberries in the menu photo, but instead it arrived as two scoops with frozen berries and was covered in jam.

This tiny cabin is simple, without any luxury, and that's exactly how I like it. I've already stayed here three times and would come back again. For the smallest basic cabin, pick number 1, 5, or 9. Enjoy being surrounded by nature.

The location is nice and has potential, but I wouldn't call it a pleasant holiday stay overall. Our fairly new, small chalet kept losing power, so we were moved to another one. That chalet had a roof leak that hadn't been fixed, and the floors and bedsheets weren't very clean. There isn't much for kids to do beyond a tiny playground.

We spent a few nights in one of the blokhutten. It had what we needed for cooking and a comfortable stay, though it could use some renovation. The heating was good and warmed the place in minutes. The area is lovely near the lake, and Groningen is only a short cycle away. We were there on cold, rainy days in December, so didn't get to explore. We also had a great family high wine and high tea for the kids. The wines were good, and the food was plentiful and very good. I'd give the restaurant five stars.
