City Trip Hostels

I stayed here for several months while trying to find housing, and the reception team made it feel like a temporary home. The bunk beds are very comfortable, and I could sleep easily even during the day. Getting to Amsterdam is simple, too. The bus stop is so close it feels like taking a taxi, and the prices are unmatched, cheaper than rent. The housekeeping man is also always kind and funny. Thanks to everyone for making my stay as good as it could be. I hope I don't come back, since I'm happy to finally have my own place, haha.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The only downsides were the lack of a microwave and a bad smell in the downstairs kitchen. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay.

The staff were amazing, and this was a wonderful start to my trip through Europe and a great introduction to The Netherlands without the crowds. I'm 66 and travelled alone for two months. I began in Amsterdam, then booked four nights in Purmerend without knowing much about the area. The bus from Central station took me through a lovely town, and I wished I were staying there. It was Purmerend. The accommodation was fantastic, the town had everything I needed nearby, and the bus to Amsterdam stopped right outside. I was also able to take day trips to many places in The Netherlands.

I didn't feel safe here. The pods were dirty, and people didn't clean up after themselves in the shared spaces. I felt it wasn't safe for women. I also saw an environment where boundaries weren't respected, and the management seemed highly unprofessional. Security was a serious concern: belongings reportedly went missing frequently, and management seemed indifferent when it happened. I'd strongly advise looking for a more reputable, respectful place in Amsterdam where you can feel safe and at ease.
