The beds and furniture couldn’t have been better, and Bram and Jenny are very nice hosts. Abby the dog and Bruno the cat were friendly and cute too, though sadly I didn’t get any photos of them. We arrived fairly late on Sunday afternoon, but still got a full introduction to the place. It’s a quiet, cozy place for a break, with sheep and chickens in the neighboring fields that you can hear at night. Five stars feels like too few.
The area around Bram and Jenny’s is beautiful and varied, great for walking, cycling or boating, and breakfast was delicious too. We had a wonderful night with friends. They’re lovely people and really helpful.
I come here often, and today was a day to reflect. The generous, open setting makes it easy to feel away from it all. There’s a large room with a long conference table and different seating areas, so it can be used in several ways throughout the day. Jenny made a surprisingly delicious organic lunch, sweet potato soup and a fennel and goat cheese tart. You can stretch your legs on the polder paths, so bring walking shoes.
Our children and grandchildren came to visit for their birthdays and were enthusiastic too. We also loved the beautiful surroundings. Last weekend at B&B Poldergoed was wonderful, with a cozy, romantic, welcoming atmosphere and lovely decor. It was a real pleasure, and highly recommended. Such a cozy, inviting house, and it’s beautifully decorated. It can be a bit noisy upstairs. There are no cooking facilities, which was the only downside, though we knew that beforehand.
