RCN Zeewolde

The staff were lovely and kindly translated a lot when they saw my children. The site was really clean, and the beach is beautiful. There’s a beach, pool and splash park, with plenty for the children, all included in the price: water slides, splash dance, football games and more. A fantastic place in a lovely area. I’d highly recommend it and would love to return.

Our bungalow was modern, clean and comfortable, the location is great, and the staff are nice. Still, the rest of the experience was bad enough that I’ll never come back. The pool is horrendous, more like a slightly oversized bathtub in a small room. To get in, you have to go through the changing rooms, which means a mother with a young boy has to enter separately. It’s always overcrowded with kids screaming nonstop, and there’s no staff there to stop them jumping or hitting each other. The parents are even less helpful. I don’t know if that’s part of the culture, but it’s a real problem. A large Dutch family next to our house, at number 655, spent all day screaming at each other. Their kids looked normal but behaved like crazy people. They even attacked a little girl in the pool without any repercussions. If that’s normal in the Netherlands, I don’t want to visit again. If you want to relax, avoid this place or complexes like it.

We enjoyed our stay at RCN Zeewolde. The campsite is close to the water and the shower areas were very clean. Our pitch was nice, but a bit small for us, and we’d thought cars could go near the tent, though they couldn’t. That was fine. There’s hot and cold water, an indoor store that isn’t too overpriced, and a huge playground for kids. The pool is a bit old and small. I saw lots of dogs but no poop lying around, which was good, since they have a place to collect dog waste. Reception staff were approachable, and speaking English with them was no problem.

This campsite feels more like a holiday park, with some great facilities. The customer service wasn’t the best, though, and the restaurant was far too expensive for the quality of the food.
