We had a lovely three-night stay in a comfy cabin with the basics covered and all the cooking tools. Bring your own cooking supplies like oil, salt, and sugar. You'll also need to put the bedsheets on yourself. The cabin could have been cleaner, and there were quite a few ants around the house since it's in a forest 😂. There are lots of things to do with kids, including the swimming pool, bowling, and mini golf. We were satisfied overall.
We were three guests at Summio in Putten and had really enjoyed our stay, so on checkout day we asked reception if we could add four nights. We were surprised that the receptionist needed to check with the manager to see if we could stay in our accommodation, even though Booking.com showed several available homes with two, three, and four bedrooms. After a wait, we were told an extension wasn't possible because there weren't enough cleaning staff. We couldn't keep the same house, and nobody offered us another unit that was listed as available. It was hard to understand why we couldn't book one of those accommodations, and it left us feeling our request simply wasn't welcome, without a reasonable explanation. That was disappointing, especially since we'd otherwise enjoyed the stay and facilities.
The staff were nice and friendly, and that's why I'm giving two stars. Otherwise it would have been just one. A lot of people have mentioned the filthy rooms, and I agree. It doesn't seem like anyone has mopped the floors in the houses for months.
The park itself is very nice, the staff are friendly, and our house was clean with everything we needed. Its location is also very good. But there was far too much fireworks noise. Please ban that stuff. It's harmful to the environment, children, and animals. A small minority can be extremely loud, as small minorities often are. Fireworks do no good. An organized fireworks or drone show could let people enjoy the view, and that would be enough. There's no reason for crackers or anything else that's loud just for the sake of being loud.
There are plenty of trees and greenery, so the nature setting is nice. But the general impression so far is that this will be my first and last visit. I came for the first time today, hoping to have a nice birthday with my family, and got bungalow 30 at the far end of the park. With my 2 year old, I have to walk all the way to the entrance for the pool or other entertainment. A baby bed was included in the reservation, but it only arrived after I called and wasn't assembled. When I tried to set it up, it wouldn't fit in any bedroom, so the only option was the too-bright living room. The rooms are very small, old, and poorly maintained, and the whole house smells bad. I don't know why it's called a comfor one. The nearby playground is also poorly maintained and not well equipped, though there are nicer ones farther toward the entrance.
