The people were very unfriendly and seemed really prejudiced.

The breakfast was very good, especially the gluten-free choices: granola, tasty rolls, cold cuts, and good coffee. The owner is a friendly, service-minded woman. It’s a nice hotel right in the center of Renesse, and we enjoyed staying here again.

The rooms are designed very nicely, and the location is central. That does mean hearing church bells every half hour through the night, along with the supermarket deliveries. It takes some getting used to, though after more than two weeks you might adjust. Free parking is a 10-minute walk away.

The place itself is very beautiful, and we also loved the beaches, but we can’t share the enthusiasm of other vacationers. We stayed in the "Bird Paradise" room with two adults and two children, and it was much too small and cramped. There was hardly anywhere to put clothes, and the kitchen wasn’t well equipped. It had just one saucepan. The bathroom light uses a motion sensor and takes a long time to turn off. When the door opens, it shines straight onto the sleeping children’s beds. The church opposite was very disturbing, with bells every half hour and on the hour. We also wish the beach sand had been vacuumed up. There was no hand broom, which wasn’t ideal. We didn’t feel welcome, and the owner seemed very distant. Only Dutch TV channels were available, though after a day at the beach we’d have liked to watch something in the evening and unwind 😕😊❗
