The staff were friendly and helpful, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. The hotel felt old, untidy, and not at all cozy, with a bad smell everywhere. The bathroom was so gross and smelly that I decided not to shower. We stayed just one night during a weekend in a nice place, and picked the wrong hotel. In one word, my experience was DISAPPOINTMENT.

The restaurant floor was so sticky you’d best keep moving, and at dinner there was just one exhausted, stressed person working. I felt bad for him. The room was dated and dirty, with cobwebs on the windows, very soft beds, and no shower cabin, so the floor got soaked after a shower. There was no room service, and busy road noise came through. Over 200e was far too much for this tired room. Worst Fletcher hotel we’ve ever slept in. Never again. Why call it Beach hotel when it’s not even close to the beach?

We couldn’t open the windows and there was no air conditioning, so the small room was far too hot. There weren’t any facilities, and at night the humming fridge or restaurant ventilation made it too noisy. This was the worst place we stayed during our two weeks in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Completely overpriced, two stars at most. Not recommended!

We arrived a little late and that was no problem. Service was friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was great. We only learned at checkout that we could have asked reception for coffee or tea and a kettle for the room.

The beach area is a nice 25-30 minute walk away. The place is pleasant, though it feels a bit isolated. The staircases are steep, which makes carrying food trays up to your room tricky.
