Art Hotel Rotterdam

We paid €140 for one night for two people, and the value felt hard to justify given the service. The building looks like it belongs in the four-star category, and we’d read it had recently been renovated, so we expected the service to match. That still seems to be a work in progress. The bathroom had shower gel, a 2-in-1 shampoo of uncertain purpose, and face wash. There were towels, at least, but no toothbrush, toothpaste, wipes, or other little disposable items. We had to make a last-minute shop for things we needed for just one night. The real surprise came after we moved a bench so we could sit together: there was a brand-new razor blade behind it. We wouldn’t stay again. Good luck to future guests, and remember to bring your own toothbrush.

The breakfast was a bit basic, with less choice than I’d hoped for. Still, the price seemed fair for the quality. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a room on the 11th floor at no extra charge. The room itself was nice, the shower had a strong flow, and the hotel is in an excellent spot.

Just a few steps from the metro and tram, which is really handy. The hotel has been completely renovated and looks lovely down to the details. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious bathroom. The staff were very friendly too. I’d definitely recommend it.

I booked by mistake and gave it a try because I couldn’t get a refund, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The metro runs beneath the window every five minutes, so sleeping was hard, and you can hear everything from the corridor. The location was really bad for me, and the place felt overpriced. There are lots of options in the same price range that are much better.
