EuroParcs Ruinen

The apartments and location are nice, but the service left a bad first impression. Our key card wouldn't open the front door, so I had to go to reception twice. Nobody explained that the main entrance to the building is at the back, and there weren't any signs pointing it out.

The water park in the middle of the site is a real highlight. It's separate from the campsite, but guests get in for free. There are three pools, slides, inflatable toys, a cafe, sun loungers and a picnic field. We also had a lovely, level grassy pitch shaded by trees. Our private shower and toilet were clean and had plenty of hot water, and there are playgrounds for little and bigger kids all around. A lovely campsite, especially for families.

We got a good deal on the usual price, and the area was beautiful. The weather wasn't great, but there was good cycling and lovely scenery. The cabin was nice apart from the roof tiles sounding like tin in heavy rain and the beds being less comfortable than we expected. Otherwise, I'd have given it five stars.

The park has plenty of amenities, and the location was lovely and quiet. The only issue was the Wi-Fi: our room was assigned the reception network, which was patchy and didn't work where we were staying.
