Hotel Haverkist

I had a fantastic stay while visiting the Den Bosch record fair. The staff were excellent and really helpful, and there’s a great bar downstairs. It’s very central, too. Thanks!

The location was the best part, about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Beyond that, I was confused by the 4.8-star score because this wasn’t what I expected. The rooms are above a bar, and there’s no front desk, so you have to wait until check-in while the hotel workers are tending the bar. My room was in a converted attic on the top floor, up three flights of steep Dutch stairs. I kept hitting my head on the ceiling, and the WiFi didn’t work. I couldn’t wait to leave.

The room on the top floor was spacious, peaceful, and beautifully designed, with high-quality furniture and design pieces. On arrival, a very friendly and helpful host greeted me and mentioned I was among the hotel’s very first customers, as it had just opened. The location is another big plus, close to Den Bosch central station and surrounded by nice restaurants and cafes. One of my favorite hotels in the Netherlands. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying in Den Bosch!

The breakfast was really good and worth the money, with yogurt, fruit, fresh bread, coffee, and tea. I loved the rooibos tea, which had great flavor even without honey. The hotel is cozy, the people were friendly, and I was treated with respect the whole time. They spoke English without any problem, and my room was kept clean and tidy. Just watch your step on the stairs.
