The beds were amazing, and we finished a day of sightseeing with a drink on the ninth-floor rooftop. We only stayed one night for a family weekend, which felt too short. Our rooms were spacious, though the road and railway side was noisy with the windows open, and the trains and cars kept us awake a bit. The hotel is modern and cosmopolitan, a four-star place by Paleiskwartier, about a 10-minute walk from Den Bosch Central Station; a pedestrian bridge gets you quickly to the historic center. It’s a little way from the center but still not far. We skipped breakfast and went into town, so I can’t comment on it, though it looked nice. The hotel rents bicycles, but we used OV fiets from Den Bosch station. A very nice hotel to stay in.
Do stop by rooftop bar Current. The breakfast was good, and the staff were really nice. My room looked toward the bridge over the railways. There wasn’t much train noise, though light sleepers may notice it. Restaurants in the city are a short walk away, and there are some around the corner too.
I spent two weeks here for work, and the experience was awful. Staff were rude, dismissive, and no help at all. As a Gold, now Platinum, member, I was shocked by how far this fell below Marriott quality. For the first week, none of my four devices could use the Wi-Fi. Staff blamed me and wouldn’t move me, even though other rooms had working internet. I had to buy hotspot data to work. After I raised it several times, the Wi-Fi finally started working after that first week, so I was right. There was also a power outage in my room, leaving me in the dark. The front desk laughed when I asked for help, and it took ages to fix. Housekeeping ignored my Do Not Disturb signs, then skipped cleaning when I actually needed it. I’d confirmed late checkout with a manager the night before, but at checkout I was shamed and told I’d be charged. They said they were making an exception for something that had already been approved. No apology or accountability. The place felt disorganized and unprofessional. Den Bosch has better options, so skip this one.
Our dinner at the rooftop restaurant was lovely, and the Asian waiter made the evening feel special. He greeted us with a warm smile, stayed friendly and attentive, and clearly knew the menu well. His dish suggestions were delicious. Drinks stayed topped up, the food arrived at a good pace, and he checked on us without interrupting our conversation. It felt like he cared about his guests, and we left feeling well looked after.
The spacious bathroom was a welcome surprise, and the modern design feels considered. Staff were warm and friendly, and the rooftop bar has a great atmosphere. Still, I left disappointed. I expected more of a boutique, upscale stay from a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel. The air conditioning was the biggest problem. The site advertised A/C, but what we got was weak climate control that just moved warm air around. The window barely opens, which made the room uncomfortable during a heat wave. The website should explain this clearly, since it could be a dealbreaker, especially in warm months. Breakfast was underwhelming, and I’d skip it, take the points, and get something from the nearby grocery store. Getting into the city center takes at least 40 minutes round trip, and there’s not much around the hotel. For such a small town, the location felt surprisingly inconvenient.
