8/10
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but during my five nights at Marktstad I never got a proper WiFi signal and had to use my phone as a hotspot. Breakfast was okay, though very limited and exactly the same every day. At €20, I expected more. The heating in my room also reset itself to 18 degrees each day, and I never found out why.

Bad weather kept me from heading offshore, so I was lucky to be sent here for the night. The rooms were lovely and the service was great, but the set menu was fine dining at its best. I’d forgotten I even had a palate until I ate here.

We really enjoyed staying in Schagen’s historic center. The boutique hotel has a properly spacious room and a comfortable bed, with friendly staff and good service. Dinner was delicious.

I stayed here for work and loved the town. The location was great. One concern: I saw the man at the bar pouring older wine into a newer bottle. That violates HAACP rules.

Quiet hotel right in the center, close to everything. The restaurant food is excellent, and the service there is absolutely brilliant.
