Hostel Herberg de Esborg

The adult beds were comfortable and the wifi worked well, so despite the odd stay, we’d still recommend it. The house is beautiful, the sheets were clean, and it has a real historical feel. The rooms weren’t especially pretty, but they were interesting and cheap. The big man, the huge bulldog, and the other characters added to the Norman Bates atmosphere 😂❤️ Just don’t arrive right before midnight. We were given an upstairs room and got locked in. The only way out was through the smokers’ porch off the breakfast room, and there was no other exit. We both swear we heard someone on the other side of our wall all night, even though there was nothing there. If you like old buildings, ghosts, and autenticite, it’s quite a place. Thanks for the most interesting stay we’ve had in years ❤️

The breakfast was surprisingly okay, but I’d spend the extra ten euros for somewhere decent. The room was in a dark, moldy basement, and nothing seemed to dry. There was even carpet in the bathroom. The building is badly run down, the room was very outdated, and there were hardly any outlets. Wifi never worked during our stay, even though we could connect using the network passwords. When we asked the staff to restart it, they didn’t understand what we meant. For a cheap place, expectations should be very low. If we’d known about the basement room, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Great value for the money, and breakfast was very good. A really nice inn.

When I visit my relatives, I know where I’ll stay. The owner and his wife were attentive and very friendly, and our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good, too.
