We come here for hiking and museums, and the Westerwolde walking routes are excellent. The B&B is pleasantly climate-conscious, and our dog is absolutely welcome. The cottage has its own entrance and private garden, and you can also wander into Geerte and Peggy's dream garden. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a good bed, a nice bathroom, and pretty much anything else you might need, from outdoor candles and a flashlight to a fly screen for the summer mosquitoes. There’s air conditioning for summer and a heater for winter, plus games, books, and a view. Every morning there’s an organic breakfast made by the wonderful chef, and I can highly recommend the private dinner too. If I could ask for two little extras, they’d be an extractor hood for cooking and maybe a small sofa, especially for relaxing after a long hike if you stay more than a night or two. Those are luxuries, really. We’ll definitely be back! :D

We were very happy with our stay and got to see parts of the Netherlands we otherwise would never have visited. It’s a genuinely relaxing place for a holiday, with nature right nearby instead of shops. The room had everything we needed, plus its own patio, and our dog could run around on its own. The hosts were lovely and cooked fantastic food.

A charming little spot hidden among the meadows, with a wonderfully friendly host. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and changed each day. Dinner was excellent, easily good enough for a restaurant. The area is lovely for walks and bike rides, a real gem in Groningen 🐸❤️

It felt like coming home, and like time had stopped for a while. More than just a place to spend the night, it brought a sense of arrival, peace, and quiet. Thank you for this beautiful place for the soul.

Set out in the countryside, this lovely B&B is a great choice if you want peace and quiet. There’s a wide range of attractions within a half-hour drive, and even without a car you can head straight out from the B&B for a bike ride or a walk through fields and along ditches. You don’t need to go far for a meal either, since the hostess is a fantastic cook. We’ll be back!
