Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Elzenduin

The room felt cheaply furnished, and I could hear a lot through the thin walls. Breakfast was okay, though it had that industrial, lower-end hotel chain feel. The restaurant was decent, and the beach is very close. There are only a handful of parking spaces.

Ter Heijde was quiet, without many tourists around, which suited our need to relax and talk business. We used the conference room for our meeting, then took a break at the beach, just a two-minute walk away. The fletcher hotel in Elzenduin is fine for a night, though nothing special. The restaurant and service were good. One thing to keep in mind: if you eat mussels outside, flies are drawn by the sea smell and may rush to your plate.

We came back to the coast in stormy weather, this time staying at hotel Elzenduin after a previous visit to this fletcher hotel. We knew what to expect and weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly, the rooms good, and breakfast very good. The hotel could use a little makeover. We travel with a dog, and finding a good hotel can be difficult, but here they do everything to make the stay pleasant. It’s very close to the beach. Parking is the one problem, with only a few spaces. In summer that’s no issue, but in winter it’s hard to get to the hotel without getting wet.

The food was fantastic, from the delicious mushroom soup to a perfectly cooked rib-eye. I loved the crème brûlée so much I’m lost for words. The chimichurri, though, was more like pesto than chimichurri. As a Latin meat lover, I can offer a few tips to improve it. 😜
