Hotel de Roode Leeuw

The staff welcomed us nicely, and the beds were decent to sleep in. The hallway was okay, but the rooms need serious work. The carpets looked worn, and the bathrooms were awful: old showers with no curtains left the whole room wet and the floor flooded. The sink looked like it was from the 60s, and the cold light came from an old single fluorescent tube. At 110 euros, it definitely wasn’t worth the price.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights here and had a great stay. The room was spacious, the beds were good, and there were plenty of power sockets. The building is dated, filled with paintings and objects that feel almost like a museum, which gave us a relaxing sense of going back in time. The staff were relatively young, though not too young, and very helpful. Our 8-year old daughter soon made some new friends. Breakfast was okay and enough for us. The restaurant food, though, was exceptionally good. We had spareribs, schnitzel, and a typical Dutch lunch menu, but unfortunately missed out on the famous salmon. We’ll come back…

We loved De roode leeuw in Terborg. It’s a wonderfully renovated historical hotel with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and very good food. It’s also well located for exploring the area.

We had lunch in this excellent restaurant in quaint, lovely Terborg. The place is beautifully decorated, the service was great, and the quality was high for a fair price. We really enjoyed the schnitzel and mushrooms with vegetables, fries, and the most delicious roasted potatoes we’ve ever had. It was quite full, so I took photos of the dinner section instead of photographing strangers. We’ll definitely come back!
