De Plesman Hotel The Hague

I was in The Hague for work and needed somewhere near the conference centre. This hotel on the edge of the city worked out well. The restaurant and bar on-site were useful since supermarkets and other restaurants take a bit of a walk to reach, especially when you're short on time. Staff throughout, from reception to breakfast and housekeeping, were professional and helpful. The breakfast buffet each day had plenty of tasty choices, and on Fridays there's an à la carte option for a change. Rooms aren't luxurious, but they're furnished well and cleaned thoroughly. I did miss having plates and cutlery in the kitchenette.

For a work trip, De Plesman Hotel was a comfortable base. The rooms were spacious, clean, and set up for working, with dependable Wi-Fi. Getting around to business or dining areas was straightforward thanks to the transport links, and Scheveningen is nearby. The staff were friendly and efficient, which made it easy to keep my schedule on track. I also liked having relaxed common areas and breakfast where I could check emails or have an informal meeting. The hotel has a modern design and was a great fit for my stay in The Hague.

The hotel feels like a work of art, and I loved hearing the story behind it. Albert Plesman, founder of KLM, built the building, which was once the airline's first office. Inside, the old photos, lighting, and spiral staircases give the place a special feel. My room was very comfortable, with a great bed, crisp white sheets, and lovely pillows. The heated bathroom mirror was a clever detail too, it stayed clear after a shower while I dried my hair. Breakfast was tasty and had plenty of variety. The reception team were so friendly, and Yuliia deserves a special thank you for showing us around and sharing such interesting stories about the building and KLM's founder. I just had to leave a review, this place is amazing. ❤️

Dinner at Suus was a real treat. I also liked the restrained, practical design and the thoughtful little details, and my room faced a very nice street view. Breakfast was satisfying without being over the top. The location suited me perfectly, though it's not central. Madurodam is close, and the beach isn't too far.
