Bilderberg Europa Hotel

I was eventually moved to a room where the heating worked, but it kept resetting to 20°C each night, which was uncomfortable. Before that, the heat in my first room had been out for nearly ten hours, despite several requests to three different staff members. One staff member was dismissive and ironic with me, put other guests ahead of me, and falsely accused me of insulting him. I hadn’t, and that isn’t in my nature. It felt like he was trying to shift the blame and gaslight me. When I asked for a comfortable 22-23°C, he openly mocked the request several times instead of helping. He also repeatedly came into my room to check the heating, which made me stressed and uncomfortable, especially since he wasn’t authorized or accredited to do that. He kept asking me to wait another 20 minutes without offering a real fix. I emailed a formal complaint afterward and never received a reply. The service and communication were very poor.

The local area felt pretty rundown, and you’re not right on the beach. The balcony wasn’t much use either. Still, the staff were friendly, the rooms have been renovated, and breakfast was quite nice.

I kept waking up hot because the air conditioning would switch off every three hours. The room controls never worked, so I had to call reception each time and ask them to restart it. It had seemed fine when I checked in, but after dinner it cut out and the room got too warm to sleep in. There was no window to open, and leaving the balcony door open overnight didn’t feel safe. Reception manually overrode the system to cool the room, but three hours later it switched off again. They restarted it after another call, and the same thing happened another three hours later.

We came for a couple of days away with my son, and I was really disappointed with my choice. The hotel offered to move us, but I was so let down that a room change wouldn’t have fixed it. We stayed two nights. The room was tiny, the TV didn’t work, and it wasn’t cleaned. The neighbors smoked on their balcony throughout the day and evening, and they were noisy too.
