The beach is only a 4-minute walk away, and the tram into the centre is about 5 minutes on foot. We liked this family hotel a lot. The staff, room, and location were all good, and it’s a great fit if you’re coming to Den Haag for the beach. Breakfast is brought to your room, so you can have it on the balcony. They were also flexible when we arrived a little before check-in and did what they could when we needed to check out early. We even borrowed an umbrella from reception once. Everyone was easygoing with us. One small downside, the wooden floors mean you have to walk quietly in the room.

The steep, narrow staircase up to the rooms is a challenge. The room itself was clean and roomy, but there were no real home comforts, and the third bed, if you need one, is a camp bed. The breakfast was only just adequate: tiny boiled eggs, fewer than two small slices of meat per person, and one piece of cheese each. There was plenty of bread, though it was all supermarket bread, with no artisan options. The location is good, but this feels like a budget hotel without budget prices, and the place seems to be run with as little effort as possible.

We arrived at 11 for our reservation after a long day and were left out in the cold. The owner had gone to bed early and absolutely refused to let us stay that night. Horrible experience and management. Unbelievable.

The host was lovely and the service was really great. Breakfast comes to the room, and there’s something for everyone, from sweet to savory.
