Jorplace Beach Hostel

The location is handy, with a supermarket right next door and lots of restaurants nearby. The public rooms are nicely designed, and there's a shared kitchen, though the shared fridge sometimes has no space. Our own room was tiny, and we booked a two-bed room but got a three-bed room with bunk beds. Worse, we found bedbugs in the beds. After we left, we heard other guests had found them earlier and told the hostel, but the rooms were still let out. We checked out a night early and had to ask for the last night's refund ourselves. They only agreed after checking with their boss. You're not allowed to keep food in the bedrooms. The shower was old and so cramped there was nowhere to keep our things dry, and the toilets weren't nice either.

The rooms and kitchen were kept clean, and the beds were really comfortable. We had a great time at Jorplace, especially riding the longboards we got there down to the beach. In the evenings we hung out with music, table soccer, and a cold beer. The staff were friendly and open minded. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

The one good thing was being near the beach, plus the free Fußball. Our six-bed room was so cramped we couldn't all stand in it together, which felt really claustrophobic. The showers were strange, and there were very few washrooms for the whole floor. The kitchen was tiny too.

For the price, it's good enough. The place is nice, and there's a kitchen, plus a basic breakfast that does the job. Having six people in one room felt like too many during corona, though. The showers should have somewhere to put your things, instead of leaving them on the floor where they get wet. And yeah, there's a cat, Prince, really beautiful 🙌
