Landal Holiday Park, Kijkduin Park, Cottage 151

I had to find another hotel because my elderly family members were afraid to stay in the cottage I'd rented for them for five nights. The place smelled awful and was full of garbage. There was dirt and rubbish on the floor, while the sink, dishwasher, and kitchen were piled with dirty dishes. I called the front desk and was told someone might clean it that day, though it could be tomorrow instead. The property wouldn't refund anything, not even part of the cost beyond the first night. Telephone reception shut at 5 p.m., and no one was available to help. It's hard to describe the whole mess, the photos speak for themselves.

The house was in poor shape, with a dishwasher that was rotting away and dirty dishes left in the cupboards. It was one of the worst stays we've had, and I'd tell people to stay away. The team was at least somewhat willing to help.

The location is great, but at this price there were too many things that could have been better. Even the indoor lighting fell short, and the customer support and care did too. A bit below what I expected.

We loved the peace and quiet during our September stay in the motorhome. There was great cycling, a beautiful beach, and friendly staff. I imagine the summer months get crowded with families and children, since there's so much to do there. We prefer tranquility, so this time of year suits us perfectly.
