NH Atlantic Den Haag

We had a lovely, large family suite with a small kitchen and views over the dunes, and the hotel has a little pool to enjoy. The location right on the beautiful beach was great. The construction work nearby was a shame, though there wasn't much they could do about it.

Being right by the beach is wonderful, and the location is very good. Breakfast was very good too. But I would have appreciated clearer information about prices and conditions. There was a major construction project in front of the hotel making a lot of noise. It would've been fair to tell us beforehand and avoid booking us into rooms facing that side. We also weren't told that breakfast costs a different amount when reserved in advance than when bought on the day. More transparency would be appreciated.

We got good value for what we paid, especially with the hotel only about 20 m from the beach. The room had a lovely ocean view and a big bathtub, and the staff were really friendly. The Italian restaurant next door was great too, with a really cool shark tank inside. The mattress was hard and felt old, and the hotel is a little dated. I don’t mind either of those things much, but some people might. They weren’t enough to knock off a star. My girlfriend and I stayed here last week, and we’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

The lack of air-conditioning was the main drawback. Our room on the beach-facing side got hot and stuffy, and it was hard to keep the door open enough for a breeze. The staff were accommodating, though, and found us a fan when we asked. There was construction for a new underground bike parking lot next to the hotel, but from our sea-facing room the noise didn’t bother us. We enjoyed the views, especially watching the sunset and having coffee on the balcony in the morning. The room had a firm bed, a mix of soft and firm pillows, a hair dryer and an iron. The spacious bathroom had two sinks, a bath, a walk-in shower and a separate toilet, with soaps, gels and cream supplied. No robes or slippers. The room and bathroom were accessible, but there was a step to the balcony. There’s an in-house dining room and a couple of nice places to eat within walking distance. The reception also has a small supermarket kiosk with drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. Reception staff were friendly, apart from a trainee who didn’t seem keen to help. The walk-in shower was especially nice after a day at the beach.
