The apartment was bigger than we expected and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view was fantastic, and there was hardly any traffic, so it was easy to relax and enjoy being at the harbor. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away. Even though we arrived five hours late because of car trouble, the owner welcomed us and showed us around. We stayed in touch on WhatsApp, and he sent us lots of tips for events and nice places.
We reached out to the host as soon as we saw the state of the accommodation, but no fix came through, so we ended up contacting customer service ourselves. On arrival, there was dirt, hair, stains, and even mold throughout. It looked nothing like the photos or the Booking.com description, and the hygiene made us feel neither comfortable nor safe. I can't recommend it for a holiday or even a short stay. Stay away.
Thanks, Remco! The view really is amazing, and the apartment is beautiful. What stays with me even more is how naturally welcoming some people are. As I used to tell people I mentored, you have to enjoy helping even the complicated, grumpy, hard-to-satisfy guests feel happy. Once you can do that, you see that every person can be given a wonderful experience. That feeling is rare, but ooooh, we love it when it comes around again.
The bathroom could use a little improvement, but everything else went smoothly. The location was great, service was very good, handing over the keys was easy, and there were plenty of towels.
