Pink Flamingo Boutique Hostel

The staff were incredibly kind and patient, and the location is hard to beat. My bed was comfortable, and the price didn’t feel excessive like it can at some hostels. Cleanliness in the rooms could be better, the bathrooms stay soaked after showers, and I spotted a couple of bugs during my stay. Nothing too bad for such a good price.

Getting around as a tourist was easy from here, with the train station, trams, and grocery stores all nearby. The location is superb, and I loved the look of the place. We had a lovely city view from our room, and the terrace is so cute. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the kitchen had what we needed. The staff were lovely and helpful. They provided letters for our visa application without any fuss or delay, and helped store our bags in the lockers after we arrived. The lift down to them amused me. We booked through Booking.com, though I’d suggest booking on the hostel’s own website since information can sometimes take a while to update between the two. Remember to shut the windows if noise bothers you. They provide ear buds for people who are extra sensitive to it! We did have a kitchen sink pipe leak, but the place’s overall vibe made up for that hiccup.

The staff were friendly, the layout was well thought out, and the location was convenient. I was on the top floor, which had a great view, but the heat and noise insulation could be better. It looks as if that floor used to be an exposed attic. I also hadn’t expected the hostel to face right onto a busy square where businesses stay open past midnight every day of the week. Keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper or turn in early.

The room was very cold all night because its heater didn’t work, and the beds were really uncomfortable. Even after five hours set aside for cleaning, there were women’s hairs in both the room and bathroom. There were no slippers or shampoo, and the service was very poor. The reception staff were disrespectful. They didn’t show us to our room or give us proper information or support. They seemed unreliable. Our experience was terrible, and I’d tell people not to choose this hotel or they’ll regret it.
