We stopped in for lunch and the service was great. The sushi didn’t really do it for me, though I’m used to better in London. Paying with a foreign bank card was a definite no. They charged extra for using one and gave no indication why.

The food was competently prepared, but it wasn’t really to my taste. I chose the rotisserie chicken as a safe comfort option, but it tasted nothing like I expected. It was sweet, with apple-cinnamon and sweet-and-sour Asian sauces on the side, plus honey mustard dressing on the salad. If you like sweet chicken, go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t order that dish. My girlfriend enjoyed the onion soup. The place itself is stunning, very well designed and clean, and the staff are friendly.

This is just about the restaurant. We had amazing food last night, especially the focaccia and carpaccio, and the cocktails were great too. Service was lovely, with a nice woman singing live. We’ll definitely be back.

We found ’t Goud Hooft in The Hague a nice place to pause in the city center. Lunch and a beer turned out better than expected: the gyoza had a surprisingly good flavor and texture, and the hummus sandwich was fresh and pretty good too. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was smooth.
