voco The Hague by IHG

The hotel is close to the town center and museums, and Den Haag Centraal is about a 15-minute walk away if you’re heading to Rotterdam or Amsterdam by train. Our room had lots of space, a bigger-than-average bathroom, and a shower with good pressure. The bar also had plenty of options. Service from all the staff was amazing, and the stay was good value. I’d recommend the hotel and would definitely book at Voco next time I’m in The Hague.

I’ve stayed here every year for the location and hospitality, but after this visit I won’t choose it again. There was no housekeeping, and the room temperature was controlled internally with no explanation of how to manage it. The room got very hot, while the fan barely moved the air. I’d also recommended the hotel to a family member, who booked an upgraded room and still had to ask for housekeeping. I’m a silver elite member. If I’m only paying for a room without basic hospitality, there are plenty of other options. Whatever changes or cutbacks have happened, Voco has lost its soul. It’s a real disappointment for such a beautiful hotel.

The rooms are cozy, quiet, and stylish, and the location is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast, though, has often been worse than it used to be, with something missing: sometimes omelettes, pancakes, or even tea filters. There was no fish at all either. Before a morning meeting, there isn’t time to wait around, so this has been quite disappointing for a hotel of this level.

We had an amazing room with a beautiful view, and the front desk treated us really nicely. At the restaurant, ultramarijn, Morgan went the extra mile. They were fully booked, but she found us a lovely spot and got us a great table. The food was amazing, and she recommended a really good white wine to go with the fish. She has great taste!
