Christian's Hotel & Restaurant

Thank you to the people of the Netherlands for being so welcoming.

The living room was reasonably furnished, but otherwise the apartment was in very poor shape. There were nine of us for a long weekend at Christian's apartment. On arrival, I found three rooms with two single beds each and one room with three beds, though those definitely weren't 90 cm wide. The rooms were filthy, and one bed broke when my son lay down on it. There was no microwave, the oven was very dirty, the dishwasher didn't work, and nine people had to share one toilet. The dining table collapsed the following day. All in all, quite an 'experience'.

The manager's only answer was that these were low-budget rooms, though they did give us a coffee as an apology. At least that was something. I know the price doesn't set expectations very high, but I still expect a bathroom without mold, a working TV with at least an antenna cable, and a full toilet paper roll when we arrive. Most of all, there shouldn't be nails sticking up from the floor that can scratch your feet.

We couldn't get any rest because the bed was terrible, and the room wasn't cleaned. The bathroom light only worked after you flipped the switch and banged on the wall. We were charged for breakfast but got only coffee, and they also billed us for cable TV we didn't use. We tried to cancel the booking, but they wouldn't refund us. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and I'd advise people to avoid it.
