Moxy Utrecht

I was in Utrecht for work, and finding this hotel was a great surprise. The staff were lovely. Alessandra, who I think was the manager since everyone asked her when they weren't sure about something, was especially friendly, attentive, and helpful. Her team, Martin, Teo and Alessio, were so welcoming it almost felt like home. My room looked out over the river, was very quiet, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was okay, though I'd have liked a little more variety. They also let me play the guitar they have on the premises, which was great. There's a gym with everything needed for a good workout. I recommend it 100% and will definitely be back.

The rental bike option was a real plus. The ride into the centre took about 5-10 minutes, and having a bike made getting around much easier. It even came with a lovely IPA at the hotel bar included in the price. The nearest train station was only two minutes away too. We enjoyed the breakfast, the good rooms, and the nicely decorated bar and public areas with their relaxed feel. The beds and pillows were quite hard, though that comes down to personal preference. We also appreciated the welcome drink.

Just a one-minute walk from Vaartsche Rijn station, so the location is hard to beat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely stay here again next time. It's a cozy little gem with a decent-sized room and the basic facilities you need. The pillows were nicely firm, and the shower was excellent. One of my favorite Moxy hotels, especially for the value.

The location was perfectly placed, and the staff were attentive and friendly, except during breakfast service. They may simply have been too busy to smile. The room had plenty of wall-mounted places to hang things, but almost no storage for clothes since the only spot was already occupied by the room facilities. With two suitcases, there wasn't really anywhere else to put luggage on the rack. Breakfast was quite basic, with a canteen feel, and dinner was much the same. We only ate in because my travel companion was sick, and trays were still in the hallway overnight. For what you get, it felt expensive, though I suppose these are typical weekend prices for Utrecht.
