The rooms are a little dated, but they still feel cozy, and breakfast was fine. We could also park our motorbike behind the hotel, something many other Valkenburg hotels didn’t offer. Paul gave us a warm welcome and a complimentary drink right away. He won me over with the tea I like, then with a bowl of nuts on the cozy heated terrace. He got the other seven points by arranging a TV for our room. We’ll definitely come back.

At the price, the basic rooms and breakfast were fine, especially for such a central spot in Valkenburg. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service excellent, and Jan was a real star. I stayed at Hotel Heineken Hoek for a bachelor party, and it left me with a wonderful memory. There were errors on our bill, though, and after many attempts and promises they still weren’t fixed. I hoped I’d eventually be able to remove this comment, but that never happened. Nothing but empty promises. It’s March 2019, and they’ve made a good profit, with our money, not an extra star...

The place had changed its name, to something Italian, but it was really nice. We had a delicious baguette with ham and honey mustard sauce. Friendly service, and they even had a water bowl for our dogs.
