I'm very disappointed. I stayed one night at the beginning of July, but my card was charged twice, as though I'd stayed for two nights. I've reported the duplicate charge several times. More than five weeks have passed, and I've had no reply or refund. I'm now forced to contact a lawyer.

We booked through booking, but when we arrived the hotel had cancelled our reservation without telling us. They claimed they'd tried to contact us, which was a lie, and said booking.com was trying to cancel it, though booking had no idea about that. They're refusing to refund our payment. The staff were rude and completely unapologetic.

I don't hand out low ratings lightly, so I feel a bit reluctant to rate this place so poorly. The staff are helpful and willing, if a little formal, and the location is perfect: right at the edge of the centre, close by but far enough from the noise. The rest feels stuck in the 70s. The decor, the rules, even breakfast all seem tired and overdue for a revamp. I understand it's a family hotel and investment is a challenge, but it's a shame. This place could be spectacular.

An absolute disaster. There was no staff on site, no answer to phone calls, and no response to online messages. The room keys were left by the entrance where anyone could grab them. When we got into our room, it hadn't been cleaned, and there were no bed linens or towels. We couldn't find anyone from the hotel to contact, so we left and booked somewhere else. These people don't deserve to be in business.
