The location is great, but I’d pick one of the other five nearby hotels next time. The rooms feel very dated, with mostly cheap IKEA furniture and things that haven’t been maintained. It seemed like the owners had stopped trying to make guests’ stay nice. At a lower nightly price I wouldn’t have expected more.

We had a really good weekend with friends and would book again if we return to Valkenburg. The hotel sits right in the town centre, a minute from the restaurant streets and about ten minutes from the caves where the Christmas Market is held. There’s parking beside the hotel, and we also used the pool room and bar for gluhwein. We had some lovely chats with the owners. The room stayed warm and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the lobby felt cozy, was nicely decorated, and always had good music playing.

The rooms are simple but do the job, and they were very clean. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout. The breakfast spread was better than I expected.

I’ve been here twice with friends from Lincolnshire. Pete’s a great host, and Valkenburg is a lovely place with fantastic street food. Well worth a visit.
