Stadsherberg Ald Weishoa S

The room was small, and the toilet was communal, just as the website said. It was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. We stayed one night, and the hotel’s right in the center of town, which was the best part.

The lack of basic comforts made my recent stay at Ald Weishoes in Venlo a letdown. There was no breakfast, and not even a simple way to make coffee or tea. The mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, the rooms cramped and windowless, and the showers right beside the beds. There are no toilets in the rooms either. Even when the restaurant kitchen was closed, guests weren’t allowed to eat takeout at the tables. I’d choose somewhere else in Venlo, even a basic hostel.

I grew up in this town, so it was nice to stay somewhere with so much history here. The hostel is modern and nicely finished, and the location is great, within walking distance of the station and close to the Maas. There are plenty of shops nearby, along with beautiful architecture. The rooms are as small as other reviews say. I didn’t mind, though the lack of a chair and the challenge of keeping things tidy were noticeable. There’s storage under the bed, the bed was super comfy, and the other amenities suited what I needed. I felt it was good value and would stay again.

Right in the town center, which is a great spot. The rooms are small and can get a little noisy, but the beds are big and comfortable.
