A charming, authentic villa in a great location with nice facilities. Some rooms, though, have a strong smell of smoke.

A nice spot for a stay with a group of friends.

We had a bad experience with the owner, too. Someone showering set off the fire alarm, and we were told we’d have to shower for an hour and be charged for the alarm. When we said that wasn’t what happened, they immediately doubted us. I don’t think guests should be charged for a faulty alarm that goes off because of a shower. We also spilled a drink on the pool table and left a stain. The owner said the whole cover had to be replaced. So, whoever comes after us, enjoy your lovely new cover. Just watch your drinks ;)

The villa was beautiful and comfortable, and we got lucky with the weather, so the six families, just over 20 friends in all, could enjoy the large garden. We had a fantastic weekend there. The trouble came afterwards, when little things turned into a lot of complaints: a not-quite-clean BBQ, a few broken glasses, and a dirty sheet were all meant to come out of the deposit. A garden chair had broken, too, and they charged €45 for it. I get that’s what a deposit is for, but the chair sold online for €12.50 and had terrible reviews, with people saying it kept breaking. After paying well over €4,000 for the stay, it felt like the owners showed little hospitality by making such a fuss over a few glasses. All that nitpicking was a real hangover after an otherwise fantastic weekend.

A good house for a group.
